Quality Care for Children has a been a leader in Georgia’s Farm to ECE movement since 2017. We have implemented programming in over 60 family child care homes, child care centers, and Head Start programs throughout 29 Georgia counties centered around three core elements: increasing access to fresh, local foods; implementing nutrition and agriculture education; and building edible school gardens.

Efforts have shown our Farm to ECE sites show an increase in menu quality, including fresh and local produce; more frequent and intentionally planned nutrition education opportunities; and a variety of benefits attributed to the school garden, including experiential learning that supports cognitive development, social-emotional and self-regulation benefits for children, and family interest in gardening at home.

As a mission-driven child care resource and referral agency with strong ties between their Nutrition and Wellness Initiatives team and key agencies and coalitions, QCC is well-positioned to champion Farm to ECE initiatives to benefit kids statewide.

"QCC has been, and will continue to be, a reliable partner and source of inspiration, awe, and encouragement regarding all Farm to ECE activities."
